Portland, OR – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the Ashcreek-Crestwood neighborhood of Southwest Portland on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a report by the Portland Police Bureau, the accident was reported at around 3:20 p.m. on August 25, on Southwest Dolph Drive near Southwest 62nd Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that the woman was riding a bicycle when a car hit her near the intersection under unclear circumstances.
Portland police responded to the scene and the found the critically injured bicyclist.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared deceased. Her identity was not immediately released.
The driver who struck the victim stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.
The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is conducting an investigation into the crash and additional details are expected to be released.
