According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, on the northbound I-215 near the Harley Knox Boulevard Off-Ramp.

Perris, CA – 40-year-old Daniel Bernston died, and another person was seriously injured after a traffic collision involving two motorcycles on Interstate 215 in Perris.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, on the northbound I-215 near the Harley Knox Boulevard Off-Ramp.
Bernston, a Perris resident, was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and another motorcyclist was riding a 2006 Suzuki GSXR, both traveling at unspecified speeds.
The two motorcyclists collided under unclear circumstances. The impact ejected both riders from their bikes.
Bernston came to rest on the left shoulder of the I-215 to the Harley Know Boulevard off-ramp, where he was able to stand. The man was then struck by a passing 2017 Toyota Camry.
Emergency personnel transported Bernston to Riverside University Health System Medical Center with serious injuries. He later died while receiving treatment.
The Suzuki rider was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
CHP is investigating to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
