Bakersfield, CA – A woman sustained major injuries after she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Bakersfield Friday morning.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 4:42 a.m. on July 31, 2026, on Union Avenue and 4th Street.
Bakersfield police and firefighters responded to the scene after they were notified about a pedestrian crash.
The responders learned that a woman was crossing the street mid-block outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle.
The woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be contributing factors.
