San Diego, CA – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who was fatally hit by a vehicle last weekend in Mira Mesa.
60-year-old Samir Cesko was killed in the crash that happened just before 4 a.m. on July 25, 2026, in the 10550 block of Camino Ruiz.
According to the San Diego Police Department, Cesko was crossing the roadway from west to east at midblock, outside a marked crosswalk, when he was hit by a 2008 Honda Accord traveling southbound in the right lane.
Cesko was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said impairment was not believed to be a contributing factor.
