Bakersfield, CA – Authorities are investigating an incident where a teenage pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on a street in Bakersfield Saturday night.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 17-year-old teen was walking in the area when she was struck by a vehicle. Reasons as to why the victim was hit were yet to be established.
According to authorities, the victim was rushed to Kern Medical, where she was declared deceased shortly after. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Love Icelyn Dixon, 17.
There were no additional details released on the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
