According to the authorities, the accident took place at about 10:45 p.m. on July 18, in the 3400 block of Union Avenue.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 17-year-old teen was walking in the area when she was struck by a vehicle. Reasons as to why the victim was hit were yet to be established.
According to authorities, the victim was rushed to Kern Medical, where she was declared deceased shortly after. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Love Icelyn Dixon, 17.
There were no additional details released on the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
