Tempe, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that occurred on Saturday night in Tempe, according to the Tempe Police Department.

The accident took place at around 10:30 p.m. on June 20, on Baseline Road and Mill Avenue, near Kiwanis Park.

Preliminary reports indicate that a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road when he collided with a Chevrolet Camaro that pulled out into his path.

Authorities reported that the driver was driving out of Kiwanis Park and failed to yield to the motorcyclist.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene within minutes and found the motorcyclist with major injuries. The rider was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased.

The two occupants of the Camaro were not injured in the accident. The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.

According to Tempe police, the driver of the Camaro showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody. The driver is reportedly facing multiple charges.

An investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
