Phoenix, AZ – Three people were hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened early Thursday morning at an intersection in West Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, two vehicles collided at around 2:45 a.m., June 11, 2026, in the area of 79th Avenue and Van Buren Street.
Phoenix police officers and firefighters responded to the intersection after they were notified about the crash and found a truck and a sedan involved in the wreck.
A woman trapped in one of the vehicles had to be extricated.
The woman and two adult men were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
According to police, the woman was driving the truck westbound on Van Buren Street and reportedly crossed over to oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the sedan, which had two people inside.
Police officers are investigating the possibility that alcohol was a contributing factor.
