Santa Barbara County, CA – A woman was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in Santa Barbara County on Monday morning, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
At around 11:39 a.m. June 8, authorities responded to reports of a collision on Cathedral Oaks Road near Los Carneros Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a vehicle with two occupants collided with a deer in the roadway. The deer was killed in the accident.
Shortly after, the two occupants of the vehicle exited and one of them went to check on the deer and assess the damage. However, a second vehicle crashed into the parked car and pushed it into the woman who was in the roadway.
Crews with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived a few minutes later and rendered aid to the involved parties.
A woman was transported by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
