Bakersfield, CA – A train struck and killed a pedestrian on Monday night in Bakersfield, according to a report by the Bakersfield Police Department.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on April 20, authorities responded to the site of the collision near James and Q streets.

Upon arrival, authorities located a male pedestrian with severe injuries at the scene. The victim was reportedly hit by a train in the area under unclear circumstances.

Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.
