Simi Valley, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Simi Valley on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
The incident took place at about 4:40 p.m. April 14, in the area of Cochran Street and Stearns Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a pickup truck hit a pedestrian at the intersection. The circumstances under which the victim was struck were not yet established.
The Simi Valley Police Department and Ventura County Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after and located the pedestrian lying in the street.
The female victim was declared deceased at the site of the collision by the paramedics. The victim’s identity was not immediately released pending notification of the next of kin.
According to police, the driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
The involved truck sustained major frontal damage as a result of the collision.
The Simi Valley Police Department is still working the case to establish the exact events that led to the crash.
