According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck took place about 9:39 p.m. on May 21 in the northbound lanes of the freeway north of Alessandro Boulevard.
A gray SUV and a semi-truck were involved in the collision, blocking the middle lanes.
A male occupant in the SUV called 911, reporting that he was injured and unable to get out of the car.
CHP officers responded to the scene and closed the Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes.
Paramedics transported one person to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The SUV was towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
