Sacramento County, CA – Authorities are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that left at least two people injured in Sacramento County on Monday.

The accident, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, happened in the area of Eagles Nest Road and Woodring Drive on Monday, May 18.

Initial reports showed that a vehicle struck two pedestrians just south of the Mather Golf Course. Details on the events leading up to the accident were not immediately available.

Fire crews and the California Highway Patrol responded to the site of the accident and helped the parties involved.

After evaluation, medics transported two victims to a hospital for treatment. One of them had major injuries while the second was treated for moderate injuries.

Two other people involved in the crash were not transported and their condition was also not specified.

Roads were temporarily shut down near the intersection as authorities investigated the incident. An investigation by the California Highway Patrol is currently ongoing.
