According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the incident occurred around 7:32 a.m., April 7, on the westbound Highway 60 at the Rubidoux Boulevard off-ramp.
Two vehicles collided, and one of them caught fire before stopping in the westbound lanes of the highway.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the crash.
Five people were injured in the accident. Three of them suffered moderate injuries, and two sustained minor injuries.
The vehicle fire was extinguished at 8:08 a.m.
Two lanes of Highway 60 were closed during the rescue operation.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
