According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on State Route 78 and Mastros Trailer Park Road at about 2:50 p.m. April 4.
Authorities reported that a lifted pickup truck collided head-on with another pickup on the highway. The circumstances under which the vehicles collided were not immediately established.
Two parties were declared dead at the scene while two other individuals were flown to a trauma center for unspecified injuries. Their identities were not immediately released.
