According to the DPS report, Lee Ann Cauley, 48, of San Angelo, was driving a GMC Acadia passenger car southbound on U.S. Highway 277 when she stopped for traffic at a railroad crossing on Old Ballinger Highway

San Angelo, TX – A woman is dead following a Wednesday morning crash between two vehicles in San Angelo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At around 7:23 a.m. March 11, authorities responded to reports of a crash in the area of U.S. Highway 277 and Old Ballinger Highway.
According to the DPS report, Lee Ann Cauley, 48, of San Angelo, was driving a GMC Acadia passenger car southbound on U.S. Highway 277 when she stopped for traffic at a railroad crossing on Old Ballinger Highway.
A driver in a Chevrolet Silverado truck behind the GMC failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the Cauley’s GMC.
Cauley was wearing her seatbelt and was declared deceased at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Seth Beimer, 21, of Brady, was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Multiple agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Highway Patrol, San Angelo Police Department, and San Angelo Fire Department, assisted at the scene.
No further details were released and investigations into the collision are still ongoing.
