Parlier, CA – A teenage boy was hit and killed by a vehicle in Parlier on Tuesday, according to the CAL FIRE.

The incident took place near Mendocino and Parlier avenues on Tuesday, March 10.

According to the authorities, two pedestrians were attempting to cross the roadway when one of them was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the pedestrian, then continued about 1000 feet before crashing.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene and attended to the involved parties.

The struck pedestrian was sadly declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity was not released but authorities said he was a 15-year-old boy.

The woman driving the involved vehicle sustained minor injuries in the incident and was treated by emergency medical personnel.

Roads were shut down in the area of Mendocino and Parlier avenues for hours as authorities conducted investigations and firefighters helped the involved parties. There was no estimated time on when the roadways would reopen.
