
Charlotte County, FL. – Two people were killed in a head-on collision in Charlotte County Saturday night.
According to local police, the accident happened around 10 p.m. on Harborview Road.
Police say a truck was leaving the scene of a crash in the area of Kings Highway and Veterans Boulevard when it drifted the center line while navigating a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming car.
The 25-year-old truck driver and a 12-year-old girl were killed in the accident. The girl was a student at Punta Gorda Middle School.
The car’s 44-year-old driver was critically injured and was taken to hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
