Los Angeles, CA – A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was injured after colliding with a car Sunday evening on the 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:05 p.m., February 15, on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

The officer’s motorcycle collided with a car under unclear circumstances. The vehicles were blocking the HOV lane and the No. 1 lane after the crash.

Paramedics transported the officer to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

CHP officers closed all the southbound lanes as they investigated the incident. The far right lane was reopened at 6:45 p.m. and all lanes were reopened about 8 p.m.
