Santa Cruz, CA – Two people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided Thursday morning in Ben Lomond, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 11:49 a.m. on State Route 9 at Main Street, just in front of Ben Lomond Liquors.

A Ford Mustang electric SUV collided with another vehicle under unclear circumstances. One of the cars also crashed into a bus stop. A pedestrian was possibly hit in the crash.

CHP officers, firefighters, and AMR personnel responded to the scene.

Two people, including one of the drivers, were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.

In 2023, Santa Cruz County recorded 1,315 victims killed or injured in fatal and injury collisions, ranking 19th among California’s 58 counties for serious crashes, which include deaths and injuries reported by law enforcement.
