Los Angeles, CA – A 74-year-old man who was fatally struck by a vehicle in a Beverly Grove intersection earlier this week has been identified by county authorities as Leopold Trumpet.
The collision occurred at approximately 1:08 a.m. Monday, January 19, at the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard, near the Beverly Center, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said a vehicle traveling northbound on La Cienega Boulevard struck Trumpet while he was in the roadway at San Vicente Boulevard. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Trumpet to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries, officials said.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Trumpet’s identity on Friday.
Authorities reported that the driver remained at the scene following the collision and cooperated with investigators. No arrests were announced, and it was not immediately clear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
