Fresno, CA – Three people were sent to the hospital after a driver ran a red light and caused a collision Tuesday evening at an intersection in east central Fresno.
The wreck was reported just before 7:30 p.m., January 20, on McKinley Avenue at Peach Avenue and Clinton Way.
A car was traveling eastbound on McKinley when the driver failed to stop at a red light and collided with a pickup truck making a turn at the corner.
Both drivers and a passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
In 2023, the City of Fresno reported 1,600 fatal and injury crash victims on local streets and state highways within city limits, placing it 12th out of 15 comparable cities in its population group, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) rankings.
