Fairfield, CA – A crash between two vehicles left three people dead early Sunday morning in Fairfield, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened before 2:30 a.m. January 18, on Interstate 80 east of Cordelia Weigh Station.
According to a preliminary investigation, a White Dodge Charger carrying two people and a black Land Rover with one occupant were involved in the wreck. It’s unclear which vehicle was traveling the wrong way when the incident happened.
The crash left the two men in the Dodge and the woman driving the Land Rover deceased at the scene. The names of the deceased people were not immediately released.
It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
