A preliminary investigation shows that teens were riding bikes along southbound SR 105 when one of them drifted into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle
Raymond, WA – A teen riding a bike was struck and injured by a vehicle on Wednesday evening near Raymond, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident happened on State Route 105 nearly 2 miles west of Raymond at around 5:11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15.
A preliminary investigation shows that teens were riding bikes along southbound SR 105 when one of them drifted into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle.
The WSP responded to the scene shortly after along with the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office, Raymond Police Department, Raymond Fire Department, South Bend Volunteer Fire Department, and Pacific County Fire District 3.
Medics evaluated the teen, who was found down on the ground. A helicopter was requested to transport the victim to a hospital.
The teenager, only identified as a male, was first taken to Willapa Harbor Airport and was subsequently airlifted to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. There was no update on the condition of the injured teen.
The driver who struck the victim stayed at the scene and was not suspected to have been impaired.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
