Fresno, CA. – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday morning in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:15 a.m. on Highway 99 just south of North Avenue.
At least 17 vehicles were involved in the pileup.
61-year-old Gustavo Villanueva Vargas of Fresno was killed in the accident.
Several other people were injured and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Additional information about the accident was not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
