Burlington, WA – Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that left several people injured in Burlington early Wednesday morning, according to a report by the Skagit County EMS.
The collision was reported at about 1 a.m. January 7, on State Route 20 at E. Fairhaven Avenue.
A white SUV and a black car were among several vehicles that collided on SR 20 under unclear circumstances.
The Burlington Fire, Skagit County Fire District, Sedro-Woolley Fire, and Mount Verno Fire were among the crews that responded to the scene to render aid to the involved parties.
Two patients were flown to a trauma center while two others were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. There was no update on the extent of injuries sustained in the accident.
A portion of SR 20 was shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
Authorities are yet to release additional details on the incident. An investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
