San Jose, CA. – Two people died in a fiery car accident in San Jose on Tuesday morning, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

The double-fatal collision occurred on Highway 87 near Curtner Avenue at around 10:50 a.m.

California Highway Patrol reported that two Teslas, a Lexus, and a fourth vehicle were involved in the collision.

Although the events leading up to the accident were not immediately determined, the Teslas and the Lexus caught fire after the collision. The fourth vehicle, of unknown make and model, fled the scene and was yet to be located.

The two people, an adult and a child, were killed in the accident.

Two other people were injured in the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

The collision resulted in the closure of Highway 87 for several hours.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
