Los Angeles, CA. – 50-year-old Tanya Perry of Inglewood, a Metro bus driver, was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Eagle Rock, authorities reported.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash happened around 7:40 p.m. near Colorado Boulevard and Eagle Dale Avenue.

Perry was crossing the street in the eastbound crosswalk during her break when a southbound car entering the 2 Freeway onramp struck her.

Officers and firefighters responded and rendered aid, but Perry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved fled the scene.

LAPD is investigating the incident.
