According to the Sacramento Police Department, 33-year-old Richard Newman was arrested following the crash that happened around 11:50 p.m. August 21 at 9th and T Streets.

Sacramento, CA. – 50-year-old Nathan Christopher Scott Thomas died weeks after he was involved in a suspected DUI collision at an intersection in Sacramento, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office reported.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, 33-year-old Richard Newman was arrested following the crash that happened around 11:50 p.m. August 21 at 9th and T Streets.
Investigators said the two men were driving their cars through the intersection when they collided.
Thomas was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and Newman was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police were later notified that Thomas died from his injuries weeks after the collision.
Authorities believed Newman, a Sacramento resident, was driving under the influence when the accident happened. He was arrested and booked into county jail on August 23 for DUI-related charges. He is expected to be booked on additional charges related to vehicular manslaughter.

Sacramento, CA. – Two people were hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened late Thursday night at an intersection in Sacramento.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident occurred just before 12 a.m. at 9th Street and T Street near Southside Park.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident.
First responders found two people with injuries. The patients were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of them suffered life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition.
Impairment appeared to be a contributing factor.
The SPD’s Major Collision Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
