Sandra Hall Killed in Colfax Crash on Highway 195

Colfax, WA.- A woman was killed in a traffic collision near Colfax on Friday evening, according to a report by the Washington State Patrol.

The incident took place on Highway 195, five miles south of Colfax.

The WSP reported that Makala Wheeler, 20, of Vancouver, was driving southbound on the highway when she tried to overtake another vehicle.

Her car ended up colliding head-on with an oncoming vehicle driven by Sandra Hall, 67, of Colfax.

The impact sent Wheeler’s vehicle off the roadway and it overturned onto its roof.

Hall was pronounced deceased at the scene while Wheeler and her four passengers were hurt.

Wheeler and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to a hospital in Pullman while a second 18-year-old was taken to a Colfax hospital.

Two 18-year-old passengers were flown to Sacred Heart.

According to WSP, unsafe passing by Wheeler is believed to have caused the crash.

The accident is under investigation.
