Pedestrian Fleeing ICE Hit, Killed by SUV on 210 Freeway in Monrovia

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were conducting a raid at a Home Depot when, around 9:50 a.m., one person fled on foot and got hit by an SUV in the eastbound 210 Freeway near Myrtle Avenue.

Monrovia, CA. – A person who was running from federal agents Thursday morning was struck and killed by a vehicle in Monrovia, authorities reported.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were conducting a raid at a Home Depot when, around 9:50 a.m., one person fled on foot and got hit by an SUV in the eastbound 210 Freeway near Myrtle Avenue.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with major injuries but later died at the facility.

The HOV and the No. 1 lane were closed until around 11 a.m. following the collision.

The driver of the SUV stopped and remained at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
