Riverside, CA. – At least one person was seriously injured in a car accident that happened Sunday afternoon in Riverside, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to authorities, a gray Honda Civic and a black sedan were involved in the crash.
One person was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the victim.
At least one person was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The HOV and the No. 1 lanes were shut down while firefighters extricated the victim.
CHP is investigating the crash.
