Berkeley, CA. – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision that happened Sunday afternoon on a freeway in Berkeley, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 4:19 p.m. on the westbound 80 Freeway near the University Avenue off-ramp.
According to authorities, a motorcycle was possibly involved in a collision with a burgundy pickup truck.
The rider went down in the No. 1 lane.
Two off-duty Emergency Medical Technicians in the area were helping the rider before first responders arrived.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries in the collision. The rider was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
