Modesto, CA. – A man who was killed in a car accident in Modesto early Sunday morning has been identified as Carl Welch, 39, of Delhi, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
The wreck took place on Highway 99, south of Pelandale Avenue, at around 12:45 a.m. March 30.
According to the report, Welch was driving a white Toyota sedan southbound on Highway 99 at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the rear of a vehicle, then drifted off the roadway and overturned.
Welch was extricated and rushed to Doctor’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
No further details were released.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
