Fresno, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Fresno on Thursday night, according to the Fresno Police Department.

The incident took place on Hughes and Michigan avenues at about 7:32 p.m. February 27.

A vehicle was traveling southbound in the area when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway.

The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to police, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
