Driver Trapped in Car After Wreck on PCH in Malibu

Malibu, CA. – One person was airlifted to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident that happened Thursday afternoon in Malibu.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the accident occurred just before 5 p.m. on westbound Pacific Coast Highway near Latigo Shore.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found two cars involved in the crash. Both vehicles were off the roadway on a hillside.

One of the drivers was trapped inside their car.

Firefighters freed the victim, and paramedics transported them by ground ambulance to a place near Pepperdine University, from where a LACFD helicopter airlifted them to a hospital in unknown condition.

CHP officers are investigating the crash.
