At Least 1 Hurt in San Jose Car Accident on 280 Freeway and Highway 87

San Jose, California (October 14, 2022) – A pregnant woman was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon in San Jose, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The collision occurred on the southbound 280 Freeway, just north of Highway 87, at around 3:10 p.m. on October 13.

Per the report, a white Chevrolet Traverse and a Blue Honda Civic crashed for unknown reasons. An 8-month pregnant woman was riding in the Traverse at the time.

Responding fire officials and medical personnel rendered aid to at least one person injured in the crash. The total number of victims was not released.

The Honda had a blown-out left rear tire following the crash.

Police blocked lanes 1, 2 and 3 due to the accident. The lanes were re-opened as of 4:22 p.m.

No further details concerning this incident were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
