Tulare County, California (February 5, 2022) – A woman was killed Friday afternoon in a traffic collision in Tulare County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The tragic crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 216 and King Drive.

A 21-year-old woman driving her vehicle southbound on Highway 216 when he failed to stop or slow down for a vehicle that was attempting to turn into a private driveway, driven by a 69-year-old woman, the CHP said.

The 21-year-old woman reportedly drifted off the roadway and slammed into the rear end of the 69-year-old woman’s car.

The impact of the collision pushed the 69-year-old’s car into the rear end of a tractor-trailer.

The 69-year-old woman became trapped between the trailer and the other car.

Deadly Car Crash at Highway 216 and King Drive

The 69-year-old woman was pulled out of her car and transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where she was declared dead. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The 21-year-old woman stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
