Fresno County, California (August 1, 2021) – A scooter rider sustained serious injuries following a traffic accident at an intersection in Fresno County Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The major-injury collision was reported at around 3:47 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the intersection of Willow Avenue and Friant Road.

According to the CHP, the 15-year-old was riding a scooter in the area when, for unknown reasons, the teen was hit by a vehicle.

The juvenile sustained a head injury and a broken arm and was transported to a local hospital. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.

The intersection of Willow Avenue and Friant Road was temporarily closed as the investigation took place.

Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
