Santa Cruz County, California (May 9, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz Office said a woman died Monday afternoon after colliding with a semi-truck while riding a motorcycle just outside of Watsonville.

The incident was reported at around 3:37 p.m. on Carlton Road near Coward Road.

CHP said a woman on a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck under unclear circumstances.

First responders found the rider about 10 feet from the semi-truck.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP Santa Cruz asked drivers to avoid the area of Carlton Road near Coward Road following the collision. The roadway was reopened several hours later.
