Woman Dies in Pacific Beach Crash on Riviera Drive near Edge Cliff Drive
Pacific Beach, California (January 23, 2023) – A woman was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Sunday morning in Pacific Beach, according to the police.
The incident took place on Riviera Drive near Edge Cliff Drive at around 1:30 p.m. January 22.
Police said Nestor Hernandez, 22, was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound on Riviera Drive when he drifted into the sidewalk and collided with two pedestrians standing next to their parked Chevrolet Tahoe.
One of the victims, a 22-year-old woman, was killed in the crash.
The other victim, a 24-year-old man, was pinned beneath the Tacoma. The man was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of murder and DUI following the incident.
No further details were released.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
