Woman Injured in Fresno Crash on Highway 180 and Cornelia
Fresno, California (March 9, 2023) – A woman was injured in a collision involving robbery suspects in Fresno County on Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 3 a.m., police responded to reports of robbery at a Northwest Fresno Chevron and after locating suspects in a Lexus, the driver fled from the area with the Lexus and a chase ensued.
Police called off the pursuit due unsafe speeds.
At about 6 a.m. as the Lexus was traveling through Highway 180 and Cornelia, it was involved in a crash with another car.
The two vehicles came to a rest in a field.
The woman in the victim car was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
One of the suspects attempted to run away but was caught by the police. Two teenage suspects were arrested.
The crash is under investigation.
