Long Beach, California (November 23, 2022) – A man riding in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The wreck happened at around 12:42 a.m. on Long Beach Boulevard at 27th Street.

A man in a wheelchair was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2017 Toyota Camry that was traveling north on Long Beach Boulevard.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Speed, impairment, and distracted driving were not suspected in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
