Woodland, CA. – 48-year-old Simona Palauni died in a bicycle accident that happened Monday afternoon near an intersection in Woodland, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office reported.

According to the Woodland Police Department, Palauni was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a pickup truck under unclear circumstances.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a bicycle and a car involved in the crash.
The man riding the bicycle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
