Victorville, CA – Two 17-year-old girls were seriously injured Wednesday night in a DUI accident in Victorville, according to the authorities.
The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on August 13 at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Ottawa Street.
Authorities said 18-year-old Tremel Daniel McAuliffe of Victorville was driving a 2014 Buick Enclave southbound on 1st Avenue. He failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with a dark blue Mazda sedan that was traveling eastbound on Ottawa Street.
Two teenagers were ejected from one of the cars. One of them was airlifted to a local trauma center with major injuries. The other teenager was taken to the hospital also with major injuries.
McAuliffe showed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and marijuana. He was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for felony DUI charges under California Vehicle Code sections 23153(a) and 23153(g), both relating to DUI causing bodily injury.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
