2 Killed in Naches Vehicle Collision on State Route 12

Naches, Washington State (May 4, 2023) – Two people were killed after a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Naches.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the tragic traffic collision happened on State Route 12 near milepost 181.

As per the report, a westbound Kia Rio on the Highway attempted to pass another vehicle using the eastbound lanes. The car’s driver lost control and crashed with a Ford F-350.

The Kia driver and the passenger were killed following the collision.

The identities of the deceased were not immediately released.

The truck driver was injured and rushed to Yakima Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Highway 12 near 410 junction was shut down following the crash.

An investigation to determine the cause of the incident is underway.
