Alpine, California (January 12, 2023) – Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Tuesday evening Alpine, according to California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at around 6:30 p.m. January 10, on Alpine Boulevard near West Willows Road.

CHP said a 1987 Suzuki Samarai was traveling westbound on Alpine Road when it swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming 2003 Honda Accord.

The impact caused the Suzuki to overturn.

The driver of the Suzuki, a 40-year-old Santee resident, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The other motorist, a 70-year-old, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities said alcohol or drugs were not suspected.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
