Troy J. Peterson, 59, of Fort Pierce, Florida, was driving a black 2021 Kia Soul west on US 2 when he swerved across the double yellow lines to pass two vehicles that were slowing down for traffic ahead

Leavenworth, WA.- The four people who were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision in Leavenworth on Monday afternoon have been identified by the Washington State Patrol.
The incident was reported at around 4:30 p.m. on August 18, on US 2 near the Nason Creek Rest Area.
Troy J. Peterson, 59, of Fort Pierce, Florida, was driving a black 2021 Kia Soul west on US 2 when he swerved across the double yellow lines to pass two vehicles that were slowing down for traffic ahead.
The Kia collided with a white 2025 Kia Soul driven by Kevin Chen, 24, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Chen's vehicle spun out of control and slammed into a parked 2019 Freightliner truck on the side of the road.
On the other hand, Peterson's car collided with a black 2021 Big Tex trailer hauled by Nathan Hayes, 65, of Redmond, Washington.
Chen and a passenger in his vehicle, Annie Yang, 24, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Peterson was also taken to Harborview while his passenger, Jennifer A. Dakan-Peterson, 51, of Mukilteo, was transported to Central Washington Hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
All lanes of US 2 were temporarily shut down as authorities cleared the scene.
The WSP is investigating the accident.
