Pedestrian Killed in Morongo Valley Accident on SR-62 near Senilis Avenue
Morongo Valley, California (May 11, 2022) – A survey worker was struck and killed by a vehicle on State Route 62 in Morongo Valley on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The worker was standing near a work truck in the center median just east of Senilis Avenue at around 2:10 p.m. on May 9.
According to the report, a Ford F150 traveling westbound in the No. 1 lane drifted into the center median, for unknown reasons, anc collided with the worker and his truck.
The impact sent the work truck into the No. 2 eastbound lanes of SR 62 and it collided with an eastbound Toyota Rav4.

The survey worker was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Palm Springs, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately released.
The driver of the Ford and their 18-year-old passenger were both taken to DRMC for treatment of moderate injuries. The passenger was reportedly not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the collision.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
