Two Killed in Mission Bay Accident on Mission Bay Drive
Mission Bay, California (May 19, 2023) – Two people died in a motorcycle collision on Thursday afternoon in Mission Bay, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The collision took place on Mission Bay Drive at Dana Landing just before 9 a.m. May 18.
Police said a black Prius was traveling west on Mission Bay Drive when it tried to make a right turn onto Dana Landing and was struck by a westbound motorcyclist that tried to pass the Prius on the right.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle following the impact of the accident.
The rider, a 34-year-old man, and a passenger in the Prius, a 39-year-old woman, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Prius and three other passengers, including two juveniles, were all transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The cause of the deadly incident is under investigation.
