Soquel, California (March 4, 2023) – Rylee Hollensbe, 28, was seriously  injured in a suspected DUI crash that happened in Soquel on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place in the area of Soquel San Jose Road and Hilltop Road on March 3.

According to CHP, Keller Stout, 31, was driving a 1997 Toyota on Soquel San Jose Road when he swerved to the wrong side and crashed into an oncoming 1995 Honda.

The Toyota then collided with a tree on the side of the road.

Hollensbe was a passenger in the Toyota and was transported to Valley Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Stout was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Authorities said Stout was in possession of two firearms and a controlled substance.

Drugs were suspected to have played a role in the crash. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

The wreck happened on Soquel San Jose Road and Hilltop Road.

The Toyota then swerved to the shoulder of the road and slammed into a tree.

A passenger in the Toyota was transported to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

Authorities said Stout was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was found to be in possession of two firearms and a controlled substance.

Drugs were believed to have played a role in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
